Kyaneai Ören Yeri

Cyaneae (Kyaneai) was the second largest city in central Lycia after Myra, located near modern Kas in Antalya Province, Turkey. The oldest findings date to the 6th century BC, with the city growing as a polis during the Hellenistic period. The ruins, mostly Roman and Byzantine, include a theatre, extensive rock-cut tombs, and groups of sarcophagi forming an extraordinary necropolis. A comprehensive survey was conducted by Frank Kolb's team between 1989 and 2001. The city declined between the 10th-11th centuries and was abandoned by the 14th century.
