Kusilluchayoc - El Templo de los Monos

Kusilluchayoc, the "Temple of the Monkeys," is an Inca-era ceremonial site within the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman near Cusco, Peru. The complex features a limestone outcrop carved with zoomorphic figures including monkeys, snakes, and pumas, though many carvings were decapitated by colonial extirpators of idolatry. A heart-shaped red stone in a cave below the carvings remains a place of active offerings. The site may have pre-Inca origins, possibly built by the Killke people who inhabited the Cusco Valley before the Inca.
