Khoit Tsenkher Cave Rock Art

Paleolithic cave paintings dating to 20,000-15,000 years ago in Mankhan Sum, Khovd Province, Mongolia. The cave's largest chamber is approximately 15 m high, with painted images of stags, buffalo, ibex, lions, argali sheep, camels, elephants, and ostriches rendered in mineral-based rosy and brown pigments from walls to ceiling. Some animals overlap in palimpsest layers, and others are depicted with dots. The cave was formerly on Mongolia's UNESCO Tentative List.
