Valley of the Caves, Chihuahua

Cuarenta Casas (Spanish for 'Forty Houses') is a Mogollon culture archaeological site in Chihuahua, Mexico, dating to 500–1000 AD. The site features cliff dwellings constructed within natural caves along Huapoca Canyon, representing the southernmost extent of Mogollon influence in northern Mexico. These cave structures demonstrate sophisticated architectural adaptation to the natural rock formations, with multiple rooms and living spaces carved into the canyon walls. [1]
