Kuninkaanhauta

Kuninkaanhauta ("The King's Grave") is a Bronze Age burial cairn in the village of Panelia, Eura, in Finland's Satakunta province, dating to approximately 1500-1300 BC. Measuring 36 by 30 meters and about 4 meters high, it is the largest burial cairn in Finland. According to legend, it is the burial place of a local king or chief, but the grave has never been opened. The Panelianlahti bay area surrounding the cairn contains roughly 120 Bronze Age tumuli. The cairn was originally built on the shoreline, but post-glacial rebound has since moved the coast nearly 20 km westward.
