Ahu Nau Nau

Ahu Nau Nau is a megalithic platform located approximately 150 metres inland from Anakena Beach on Easter Island. Built between 1100 and 1500 AD, it occupies a site traditionally regarded as the birthplace of the island's history and culture. According to oral tradition, this was the residence of high-ranking chiefs of the powerful Miru clan, and the landing place of the island's first king, Ariki Hotu Matu'a, who established the first settlement there with his people.
