Isla Palenque

Isla Palenque is a pre-Columbian archaeological site on a 400-acre (1.6 km²) island in the Gulf of Chiriquí, Panama, near the Costa Rica border[1]. The island has 8 km (5 mi) of coastline and over 1.6 km (1 mi) of beaches[1]. Most of the island is covered with mature tropical forest, along with mangroves, lagoons, and littoral forest[1].
