Barriles

Barriles (300-900 AD) is a renowned archaeological site in Panama's Chiriquí highlands at 1,200 meters elevation, situated several kilometers west of Volcán town[1]. Named for distinctive stone barrels found throughout the Río Chiriquí Viejo valley, it represents the Gran Chiriquí culture[1][2]. The region lies on the western flanks of Volcán Barú, Panama's highest dormant volcano[1].
