Venado Beach

Venado Beach is a Pre-Columbian archaeological site on the Pacific coast of Panama, named for the Venado River near whose mouth it was located [1]. The site was excavated in 1951 by Samuel Kirkland Lothrop, Neville A. Harte, and Lt. Col. Montgomery [1]. It is associated with the Gran Coclé culture [1]. Radiocarbon dating indicates the principal occupation spanned approximately AD 200-900 [1].
