Termessos Tiyatrosu

The theatre of Termessos is a Hellenistic structure built into the mountainside at over 1,000 meters elevation in the ancient Pisidian city near Antalya, Turkey. Its cavea spans 65.5 meters in diameter with 27 rows of seating divided into lower and upper sections, accommodating 3,900-4,850 spectators. Initially constructed in the early 2nd century BCE using Hellenistic principles, it underwent major renovations during the Augustan period and again in the late 2nd century CE. The theatre faces east-southeast, offering spectacular views of the valley below, and remains remarkably well-preserved due to the site's remote mountain location.
