Aspendos Theatre

Roman theatre built in 155 AD by architect Zenon, son of Theodorus, during the reign of Marcus Aurelius. The best-preserved ancient theatre in the world, it seats 7,000-8,500 spectators across 40 rows within a 96-metre diameter cavea. Its two-storey scaenae frons remains intact. The Seljuk Sultanate restored it in the 13th century for use as a caravanserai, ensuring its remarkable survival.
