Huaca Esmeralda

Huaca La Esmeralda is a Chimu culture archaeological site in Trujillo, Peru, located halfway between the city center and Chan Chan [1] [2]. The rectangular pyramid features two platforms measuring approximately 65 by 41 meters, accessible through central ramps [3]. Its walls display distinctive relief decorations depicting fishing nets with fish, seabirds, waves, and geometric diamond patterns [1] [2] [3]. Buried under sand, it was discovered by a local landowner in 1923 [2].
