Conservation du site Archeologique de Volubilis

Volubilis is a partly excavated Berber-Roman city in Morocco near Meknes, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997 [1] [2]. Settled since the 3rd century BC, it became the chief inland city of Mauretania Tingitana [1] [2] [3]. At its peak in the late 2nd century, the city housed some 20,000 inhabitants [1]. Major ruins include a forum, basilica, the Arch of Caracalla (AD 217), thermal baths, and mosaic floors [1]. The site later briefly served as capital of the Idrisid dynasty [2].
