Te Pito Kura is an archaeological complex on Easter Island's northeast coast, facing the Bay of La Perouse. It holds the Paro moai, the largest statue ever successfully transported from Rano Raraku quarry and erected on an ahu platform, standing 10 meters tall with 2-meter ears and weighing over 80 tons. Its enormous pukao headdress weighs approximately 10 tons. The moai toppled after 1838 and now lies face-down, split in half. Nearby sits an enigmatic ovoid magnetic stone 80 cm in diameter, said to have been brought by founding king Hotu Matu'a, whose high iron content causes compass anomalies.
