Chongam-ri Earthen Castle

(2nd c. BC) The Chongam-ri Earthen Castle is a fortification thought to date to the Gojoseon period, located near Pyongyang[1]. It was constructed with alternating layers of soil, rock, and sand, typical of earthen fortifications from this era[1]. The crescent-shaped wall stretches approximately 3,450 metres in length[1]. It is designated as one of North Korea's National Treasures[1].
