RussiaThe Lena Pillars are dramatic natural rock formations along the Lena River in far eastern Siberia, Russia [1] [2]. Formed during the Cambrian period when this region was covered by ancient seas, the pillars represent exposed remnants of ancient sea basins [1]. The highest concentration of pillars is found between the villages of Petrovskoye and Tit-Ary [1]. The Lena Pillars Nature Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012 [1] [2].
