Pedra Pintada ('Painted Rock') is a massive rock formation on the Boa Vista savanna in Roraima, Brazil, measuring 85 metres long, 35 metres high, and 30 metres wide. Its cave walls and exterior bear rock art in two distinct styles: the abstract 'Parime' and the realist 'Surumu', the latter showing similarities to designs found across the Caribbean and northern South America. Excavations between 1985 and 1987 established human habitation dating to approximately 2000 BC, yielding potsherds, axes, and beads. The formation lies within the San Marcos indigenous reserve, home to Macuxi, Wapishana, and Pemon peoples.
