El Pedregal is a rock art site in northwest Costa Rica, 20 km from the Nicaraguan border in the Cordillera de Guanacaste mountains [1]. The site was first scientifically documented in 1989 and is catalogued in the Costa Rican National Museum's archaeological database under key G-540-Pd [2]. It forms part of the Guanacaste Conservation Area, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 [1].
