Commissioned under Thutmose IV and found between the Great Sphinx's front paws in 1818, the Dream Stela is a 3.6-metre-high granite slab weighing 15 tons. Its hieroglyphs recount the king's dream of Horemakhis, who promised him kingship if he cleared the sand, and his dedication of the site. The relief depicts the Sphinx twice in mirrored scenes, with Thutmose IV shown in each. The video interprets the pairing as symbolic duality and cites it in support of a second Sphinx, but the stela does not establish one.
