An ancient Sabaean temple near Ma'rib, Yemen, dating to approximately the 10th century BC and dedicated to the moon god Almaqah. Also known as Arash Bilqis (Throne of Bilqis), it features six towering columns exceeding twelve metres in height, behind which lies a broad platform believed to have held a royal throne. A sacred well occupies the courtyard centre. Partly excavated by Wendell Phillips in 1951-52, the temple underwent major restoration by the German Institute of Archaeology from 2000 to 2007, confirming two historical phases spanning from the 2nd millennium BC through the Sabaean dynasty's end. Bronze-plated walls once contained state records.
