Awam Tempel - Mahram Bilqis

The largest known temple complex in South Arabia, dedicated to the Sabaean moon god Almaqah, near Ma'rib in Yemen. Built around the early first millennium BC, it features eight massive entrance pillars and a monumental oval enclosure wall erected by Mukarrib Yada'il Dharih I in the 7th century BC. Nearly a thousand inscriptions found here form the most important collection of pre-Islamic Arabian texts. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2023 as part of the Landmarks of the Ancient Kingdom of Saba.
