Dhar Tichitt

Dhar Tichitt is a Neolithic archaeological site along sandstone cliffs in Mauritania's southwestern Sahara.[1] Part of the Tichitt culture alongside Dhar Walata, Dhar Néma, and Dhar Tagant, it may have functioned as the primary regional center for a hierarchical social system.[1] Inhabited by pastoralists and farmers from approximately 2000 BCE to 300 BCE (4000-2300 BP), it ranks among West Africa's earliest known settlement sites.[1]
