Pod

Pod (Gradina Pod) is a prehistoric hilltop settlement and fortified hill fort near Bugojno in central Bosnia, overlooking the Vrbas river valley. First inhabited during the Eneolithic and Early Bronze Age (c. 2500-1700 BC), the site was abandoned for four centuries before reoccupation in the Early Iron Age (c. 700 BC) through the 3rd century BC. Evidence of a bronze casting workshop, including ceramic cylindrical core supports, reveals early metallurgical activity. The stratified materials from Pod defined the Central Bosnian cultural group of the Late Bronze Age, and the site is a designated National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
