Desilo

Desilo is an underwater archaeological site in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, located near the Neretva river and the Croatian border [1]. Discovered in the late 20th century, investigations in 2007 led by Professor Snjezana Vasilj of the University of Mostar uncovered numerous sunken boats at the bottom of a small lake in the Desilo valley, believed to be Illyrian ships dating to the 1st and 2nd centuries BC [1]. Further excavations in 2008 by University of Oslo archaeologists found evidence suggesting Desilo was an Illyrian trading post [1].
