Deltaterrasserne

Deltaterrasserne (literally "Delta Terraces") is a pre-Inuit archaeological site near the head of Jørgen Brønlund Fjord on the Peary Land peninsula in northern Greenland, representing one of the largest archaeological sites in the region [1]. Discovered in September 1948 by Danish explorer and archaeologist Eigil Knuth during the second summer of the Danish Pearyland Expedition, the site was occupied from approximately 2050 to 1750 BC [1]. The location contains artifacts and structural features from both the Independence I and Independence II cultures, representing some of the earliest human occupations in the High Arctic [1].
