Gregory Perino found a unique shark-tooth club at Mound 34 at Cahokia in 1953. The maple-wood club had imitation shark teeth made from limestone embedded in it, a copper cap and a size roughly comparable to a tennis racket. Additional pieces, including broken shark teeth, were recovered from Perino's backfill in 2007. It is the only known example of its kind found in the United States and is displayed at the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
