The Newark Earthworks in Ohio is described as one of the largest geometric earthwork complexes in America — a Hopewell-era enclosure from the late prehistoric Ohio valley, best known for its octagonal and circular embankments. A sobering detail: much of the complex had already been ploughed away by the time it was recorded. Big loss for anyone studying prehistoric geometry. 🏛️
