In-Situ Scanning in Egypt: Serapeum and Saqqara.
The team scanned artifacts in situ in Egypt: inside the Serapeum at Saqqara and fragments reportedly 150 feet below the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. These fragments have been underground for thousands of years. They also scanned handmade alabaster and modern vases for comparison—a crucial methodological step.
