Charles Hapgood promoted Earth Crust Displacement during the 1930s-50s, proposing Earth's rigid crust could slip over its molten mantle. He argued Hudson Bay was once the North Pole, citing frozen mammoths preserved with buttercups in their mouths. He corresponded with Einstein about it, and Graham Hancock cites him in "Fingerprints of the Gods."
