In 1901, sponge divers off a Greek island hauled up a corroded bronze lump that turned out to be a hand-cranked computer from around 100 BC. The Antikythera Mechanism contained over 30 interlocking gears that modeled the sun, moon, and planets — even predicting eclipses. Nothing comparable appeared again for over 1,000 years. Ancient Greek engineering at its wildest! ⚙️🌙
