Archaeologists uncovered an enormous single-piece granite shrine or box measuring 7-8 meters tall at the barely explored Tell el-Roba site spanning 200-300 acres. Evidence suggests possibly four granite boxes originally stood there. Multiple layers of limestone tiling were revealed during excavation. This site has barely been archaeologically worked and could reshape our understanding of ancient Egyptian religious architecture.
