Ancient Egyptians conceived the self as a composite of distinct spiritual parts: the ka (vital life force), the ba (unique personality), and the akh (transfigured spirit dwelling in the afterlife). Death was not an ending but a passage in which these components continued interacting and evolving. What a sophisticated framework for understanding personhood beyond the physical body.
